Description
This healthy spiced apple bread banana is moist, naturally sweet, and packed with fall flavor. A perfect make-ahead breakfast or cozy snack.
Ingredients
2 ripe bananas, mashed
1 medium apple, peeled and diced
2 eggs
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon or apple pie spice
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, mash bananas until smooth.
3. Add eggs, maple syrup, and yogurt. Mix until combined.
4. Stir in diced apple.
5. Add flour, baking soda, spice, and salt. Stir until just combined.
6. Pour into loaf pan and smooth top.
7. Optional: Sprinkle with chopped nuts or oats.
8. Bake for 45–55 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
9. Cool 10 minutes in pan, then move to wire rack.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best sweetness.
Apple pie spice adds a warmer, deeper flavor than cinnamon alone.
Store in fridge for up to 7 days or freeze in slices.
